Artist Statement

I struggle to create.
It’s hard for me to sit down with a task at hand to create original and outstanding ideas.
But sometimes it just hits me.
Just like it hit me to major in Journalism.
Ever since I was a little girl all I wanted to do was sing.I remember watching American Idol and telling my mom and dad that I would audition one day.
But I never did.
I always had hope that I would be in the spotlight being pampered, idolized and going on worldwide tours.
But my dad, my dad loved college. He wouldn't let me get out of going to college. So I did and while I did, I still believed I would sing.
I auditioned for The Voice in 2013 yet I did not make it.
I started to wonder, was singing really for me? I then researched recording studios in the hopes of obtaining an internship.
I landed one quit quickly at Platinum Sound Recording Studios as a studio management intern.
I met tons of celebrities that I looked up to and one day wanted to be. But I also met many struggling come-up artists. Artist who sat around the studio trying to get sessions to sing so they could one day be the next Beyonce.
I saw these artists move from their hometown just to chase their dreams. All while being rejected by record labels, being told they had to diet to look better and going to rehearsals one after the other; however, they all remained in the same place. .
I met celebrities with snobby attitudes that would come in with their groupies and mooching friends that just wanted the money and the ladies that came with being famous.
It was eye opening.
I did not want to be a celebrity any longer.
I realized there are so many things happening behind the scenes that fans of these artists don’t know about these people.
How do fans really know whom they’re idolizing?

I now dream to be behind the scenes to see into the lives of celebrities. I want to be a future journalist or reporter. I want to reveal the secret lives of celebrities or simply give my advise in a monthly column in a well-known entertainment magazine.
I want to be in the homes of people who share the same love for entertainment as I do. Whether, it is these people watching me as a host on an entertainment show or in their favorite magazine.
